About The Show:Wipeout is a reality game show series in which contestants compete in what is billed as the "world's largest obstacle course". Wipeout is hosted and commentated by John Henson and John Anderson, while Vanessa Lachey acts as the "on-location" presenter. The former presenter was Jill Wagner. The creators and executive producers are Matt Kunitz and Scott Larsen. Distribution of the show is handled by Endemol USA. The show is taped at Sable Ranch in Canyon Country, Santa Clarita, California, about 40 miles north of Los Angeles. The show holds a "TV-PG L" rating for mild language by participants and some crude humor. Syndicated reruns of Wipeout are airing on truTV.The series premiered on June 24, 2008, on ABC. After the Pilot was shot, co-host Elon Gold was replaced. Producers called in Michael Glazer to find a "comic host replacement" that eventually went to John Henson. The first series success spawned a series of international versions of Wipeout, debuting in countries including Great Britain and Argentina in January 2009.....On August 29, 2012, Wipeout was picked up for a sixth season. In addition, it was announced that co-host Jill Wagner would be returning to the series after a season-long absence....This competitive reality show pits 24 contestants against each other to see who can most effectively grapple with the wild and impossible challenges of an obstacle course, with the winner taking home a $50,000 prize. With more slips, falls, and slapstick slips, the show provides not just excitement, but over the top comedy at every turn......Contestants make their way through a giant obstacle course to win a cash prize.
